Korean Bean Sprout Salad (Vegan Recipe | English)

I used to love going to Korean BBQ restaurants - but what I miss most now is the bean sprout side dish that came with it! It’s super easy to make, you don't even need to turn on the stove - perfect for hot summer days! Try it out and let me know what you think! X

Korean Bean Sprout Salad


Serves 4

Preparation time: 15 minutes


Ingredients

Bean Sprouts 400g

Salt 1 tsp

Boiling water 1 L


Seasoning

Spring Onion - Finely Chopped - 1 Tbsp

Garlic - Minced - 1 tsp

Salt ½ tsp

Soy Sauce 1½ tsp

Roasted Sesame Seeds 1 tbsp

Sesame Oil 1 tbsp

 
 

Instructions

  1. Wash bean sprouts well under cold water, drain well.

  2. Add 1 tsp salt to a large pan and add beansprouts.

  3. Pour boiling water over beansprouts and cover pot for 5 minutes.

  4. While the beansprouts are cooking, finely chop spring onions and mince garlic. Mix all seasoning together in a mixing bowl. Set aside.

  5. Check beansprouts are cooked thoroughly, drain pot and rinse beansprouts in cold water.

  6. Drain well and squeeze gently to remove excess water.

  7. Mix beansprouts with seasoning sauce.

  8. Serve immediately or chill in fridge until ready to serve.
